Device lock & account ownership
Why does a newly bought MLBB account still use the seller's email, and when can it be changed?
Because Mobile Legends locks an account for 30 days whenever it is used on a new device. During that window the bound email CANNOT be moved — that is Moonton's rule, not the seller's policy. So there is a 30-day gap where the account is paid for but its email cannot yet be yours. What makes that gap safe or not is never who holds the email, but whether YOU can read the verification codes yourself without asking anyone.
Why a neutral email is what protects you
The biggest danger when buying an account is not a Moonton ban but hackback — the previous owner reclaiming it. They can do that while the account email is still theirs: a password reset is enough. Moving the email to a neutral address held by the guaranteeing seller cuts that path during the lock, and you can still sign in yourself because the password is handed to you.
How to change the email after 30 days
- 1Wait until the 30 days passCount from the date you first signed in on your own phone, not from the purchase date. Signing in on yet another device midway can restart the clock.
- 2Open Account Center inside the gameTap your avatar → Account Settings → Account Center. This menu exists only inside the Mobile Legends app.
- 3Choose Change Email AddressMoonton first sends a verification code to the OLD email. This is where most people get stuck: if you cannot read the old inbox, the process stops here.
- 4Enter the code from the old inbox, then enter your own emailOnce the old code is accepted, enter your own address. Moonton sends a second code to the new address to confirm it is real.
- 5Change the Moonton password and turn on new-device verificationOnce the email is yours, change the password. From this point the account is fully yours and nobody before you has any way back in.
Red flags
- The seller refuses any email access and makes you ask them for a code every time you sign in.
- The account is handed over still using the previous owner's personal email.
- Someone asks for your verification code over chat, for any reason at all.
- The seller claims they can shorten or bypass the 30-day lock.
- There is no written warranty covering that 30-day window.
How ZenVan handles it
- Every account is handed over with its own mailbox at mail.zenvan.store, plus its password for you.
- You read the verification codes yourself, any time, without contacting anyone.
- Mail claiming to be from Moonton but not from its official domains is automatically marked unverified.
- Every admin password reveal is recorded automatically and cannot be deleted.
- The mailbox retires on its own once the 30-day lock has safely passed.
Common questions
How long is the Mobile Legends device lock, exactly?+
30 days from the moment the account is used on a new device. During that period the email and some account security settings are frozen. It is Moonton's built-in anti-theft mechanism — meant to protect an original owner whose account was stolen, and the side effect is the gap every account buyer experiences.
Can the email be changed before the 30 days are up?+
No. The Change Email Address menu is still visible, but the request is refused until the lock expires. Any seller promising to speed this up is promising something that is not theirs to give.
If the seller still holds the email, can they take the account back?+
Yes — and that is exactly why the email must not stay with the previous owner. If an account is handed over still using the previous owner's personal email, they can simply request a password reset and take it back. The correct arrangement: the email is moved to a neutral address held by the guaranteeing seller, and YOU are given its password so you can read the codes yourself. A seller who refuses any email access and makes you ask them for a code every time is a red flag.
So the seller can read that inbox?+
Yes, and an honest seller will say so plainly. During the lock period, whoever provides the mailbox can technically open it. What separates a trustworthy seller is that they state it up front, log every access, and push you to move the email as soon as the lock ends. At ZenVan every password reveal is recorded automatically and cannot be deleted from the dashboard.
What should be done right after day 30?+
Change the account email to your own address, then change the Moonton password. Those two steps close off everyone who came before you. Do not postpone it — while the email has not moved, the account can still technically be recovered by whoever holds the mailbox.
What if the verification code never arrives?+
Make sure the code was actually requested from inside the game — it does not appear on its own. If it was and the inbox stays empty for more than a few minutes, contact the seller. What you must never do is give that code to anyone who asks for it in chat. No legitimate seller ever needs your verification code.
